Welcome to The Caffè by Mr. Espresso! Our spot in downtown Oakland is inspired by the coffee culture of Italy, where coffee is commonly ordered and enjoyed while standing at the bar. There are no lines here; just find an open space at the bar and one of our friendly staff members will assist you.
Mr. Espresso’s company founder, Carlo Di Ruocco, came to America from Salerno, Italy. His passion for authentic Italian coffee was the inspiration behind Mr. Espresso, which he founded in Oakland in 1978. The company is still run by the Di Ruocco family, and The Caffè is Mr. Espresso’s first branded retail outlet. Come by for classic espresso drinks, specialty coffee drinks, fresh pastries and grab-and-go sandwiches, and Mr. Espresso’s own award-winning beans to use at home, from our family to yours.
